Over the past 3 years, we have steadily made improvements to the Vitruvius application. These updates are meant to improve functionality and the overall user experience for our customers.
In the coming weeks, we will again release an update, version 1.7.3, to improve not only functionality but security as well. Our third-party certification tool is upgrading from an older standard (SHA 256) to the newest standard (RSA 4096) for encryption. With this change, our auto-update process will not work as it has in the past. This update will require that you or your IT team update Vitruvius manually. This update is not complex and will involve downloading the installation file manually and double-clicking to install.
Image of the auto-update installation error you will see as version 1.7.2 tries to update to 1.7.3.
We are providing this information pre-release in hopes that you can be prepared and understand when the auto-update process fails to work during our next update. Once you have manually installed Vitruvius the auto-update feature will work as expected for future updates.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we continue to improve Vitruvius.
