StruCalc is an optimal product for residential and light commercial projects. Our company aims to bring a quality, professional software, built with strict engineering methods and specifications to every business in need of an easy to use, affordable software package. Keeping your software bottom line low is at the forethought of our company.
Created in 1993 for StruCalc engineers own in-office use, StruCalc is now used by people around the world; our users include architects, building officials, engineers, home designers, and private home owners building or remodeling their own homes. Since the early 90’s, StruCalc has been improved and upgraded based on our design experience and the needs of our customers. Today it includes ten separate design modules, four diagrams, easy to read calculation printouts, and an upgrade system that allows older project files to be easily ported into new versions of our software.
How Does It Work?
All you have to do is know the loads acting on the beam (learn how here) you are working on and the type of beam it is. StruCalc makes it easy to choose a design module with relevant modules for each design issue. Uniformly loaded beams, square, rectangular and continuous footings, roof beams, combination roof and floor beams, multi-loaded multi-span beams, multi-span floor beams, multi-span roof beams, floor joists, roof rafters, and columns are all available in StruCalc.
After selecting a building code StruCalc’s calculation engine, quickly and accurately displays visual confirmation of a beam’s adequacy. If the beam happens to be inadequate, or be adequate with cautions, all the relevant information is displayed or can quickly be viewed by the user.
The adequate beam could also have caution’s associated with it. These types of beams are displayed with a yellow icon.
If the beam design fails completely you will get this information
What Does It Do?
StruCalc covers a large array of structural analysis situations. Examples of the type of analyses StruCalc can perform includes, but are not limited to: flitch beam design, laterally loaded columns, multi-span beam analysis, hip beam design, round log design, and wide flange steel column design. Designing with StruCalc is always easy whether it consists of a complex engineering design problem like cantilever column design, or the simplest uniformly loaded floor beam.
Users can select from thousands of combinations of design materials from solid sawn wood, glulams, structural composite and manufactured beams, steel, tube steel, and i-joists. Each of these combinations can be viewed in detail in the material’s editor. The material’s editor also conveniently allows custom entries of design material’s not already carried in StruCalc. StruCalc then allows individuals to design with the materials they have entered in any of the design modules.
StruCalc isn’t just software you buy and throw away. We firmly believe that it pays for itself on the first project you use it on and keeps paying for itself every day. Our engineers, both civil and software are constantly hard at work staying ahead of future software, operating systems, design and code updates, to ensure that we stay on top of our industry. All owners of our software are guaranteed never to have to pay full price for new features again. We strive to keep upgrade costs extremely low compared to our competitors. StruCalc has major upgrades at least every 2 years with any minor upgrades during that time offered free to all owners.
What could be better than being an owner of software that allows you free access to our licensed Professional Engineers for design help whenever you need? When you own StruCalc professional structural analysis is just an email or forum post away. We also strive to keep our site updated with relevant content to assist you with general design issues and furthering education on tapping StruCalc to its full potential.
Structural analysis no longer needs to be a time consuming process. Whether you’re an architect, engineer, building official, or adding on to your garage StruCalc can help you. Performing your day to day beam design calculations has never been easier. Every version of StruCalc contains a legacy of building codes and NDS information (back to 1991!) as well as the most current steel design specifications.
Save your projects for quick reference and updates in the future, or just design on the fly all with StruCalc.
We hope to help you with all your structural analysis design needs soon!
